Youth Ministry
Mashiah Foundation has discovered that many youth are jobless and aimless. Because of this, many find
themselves in trouble as they make poor choices. MF has opened a computer center in order to train the youth.
Through this ministry program, the Youth Director and others are trying to reach these young people with the
love of Christ and the need for moral purity. The term youth in Nigeria applies to anyone who is not married.
Many Nigerian men don't marry until they are at least 30 years old. The youth are equipped with Bible teaching
and computer training. A major goal is that these youth will be well grounded in the Word of God and that they
will have a skill to help them be gainfully employed.
Pastor Bayo Oyebade developed the AIDS Bee as a contextualized version of African AIDS awareness. This came
about when he discovered that western materials were not having much effect on the Nigerian audiences as many
people have difficulty comprehending the full meaning of HIV/AIDS. The AIDS Bee is a symbol using a bee,
scorpion, and snake to convey the seriousness of AIDS. African audiences fully understand that if one is
attacked by any of these three animals, death will result.
