Bezer Home
For those family members who are homeless, Mashiah Foundation provides a residential home for widows and
orphans. MF provides food, shelter, school fees, and spiritual care for its residents. There are currently 8
widows and 8 orphans living in Bezer Home.
Esther David, the matron of Bezer Home, is herself a widow with four children. She first learned of her
husband's HIV+ status as she was getting prepped for an emergency C-section. The medical personnel were
warning each other to be careful because of the disease. Her husband died three weeks later.
In the Bible, Bezer was a city of refuge in the desert on a high plateau. Bezer Home is meant to be a place of
refuge for those who are infected with/affected by HIV/AIDS. It is also interesting to note that Jos is a city on
a high plateau.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and
widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27
